Shoot the day. More than one of you can be on the same wedding.
$500 a day lead, $350 second shooter, $175 for a portrait session, $125 for a ceremony recap
You photograph and film assigned weddings. This is the one role where several people are scheduled on the same booking, so you will often be working alongside another member of the team rather than alone.
What you would do
- Shoot assigned weddings, first or second position
- Hand over cards or files the same night, to the studio's naming convention
- Work to the shot list agreed with the couple
- Color and edit where you have been booked for it
What you need
- Your own camera bodies, lenses and lighting
- At least one full wedding you can show start to finish
- Your own liability insurance
- Backups: two card slots or a same-day copy routine
$500 a day lead, $350 second shooter, $175 for a portrait session, $125 for a ceremony recap
- A day is up to 8 hours of coverage; beyond that, $45 an hour.
- A Photoshoot retails at $395, so it pays $175 rather than a full day rate.
- A Vow Renewal's short recap pays $125 — it is a recap, not a portrait session.
- A second shooter is booked where the day needs one, not on every wedding.
- Editing, where you are booked for it, is quoted separately per gallery.
Why that number: Second shooters in DFW are paid $200–$600 for a full wedding day, with Dallas hourly listings around $47. Lead sits at the top of that band because the lead carries the day.
Paid within 7 days of the booking's balance settling, through the payout request in your panel. The studio does not pay out of a deposit it might still owe back, so payout follows settlement rather than the wedding date.
