One role for whoever makes the day sound right: a DJ working the couple's song list, or a musician playing it live. The couple builds their song list in their portal before the day, so you arrive knowing the processional, the first dance, and the songs that must and must not be played. You bring your own rig or your own instrument.
What you would do
- Play the ceremony moments to the couple's song list — processional, signing, recessional
- Run the party after: first dance, requests, and reading the room
- Coordinate timing with the coordinator or officiant on the day
- Bring and run your own equipment or instrument
What you need
- Your own PA or instrument and the experience to run it alone
- Weddings played before — this is not the gig to learn on
$400 flat per wedding played
- Covers the ceremony and up to four hours of the party after; beyond that, $75 an hour.
- Your equipment, your transport within DFW.
Why that number: DFW wedding DJs quote $800-1,500 for a package because they also sell, book and haul a client pipeline; here the booking, the couple and the song list arrive done. $400 for the playing itself sits against the $250-400 a ceremony musician earns and leaves the studio at least parity on the $800 add-on.
Paid within 7 days of the booking's balance settling, through the payout request in your panel. The studio does not pay out of a deposit it might still owe back, so payout follows settlement rather than the wedding date.
